To install mComm onto your Windows PC, first download the latest version from the Club100 web site. Once you have downloaded the setup file, double click on it to start the installer. (If you get a security error, see the security fix below.)

Once the installation has started, you should see the following screen

Click the next button. You will the see the following screen where you can change the default directory where mComm will be installed. Click next to accept the default of C:\mComm or browse to a different folder.

The third screen you will see allows you to change the program manager group name. Just leave this as mComm and click next.

Click next to activate the installation process.

Once the installation is completed, you will see the following screen.

Congratulations, you have installed mComm onto your PC. Now you will need to configure mComm. Double click on the mComm icon which has been placed on your desktop.

You will need to configure two items on the screen. The first is the root folder. This will be the folder which mComm uses to store all files sent to and from your Model-T. The second item that needs attention is the Serial Port drop down. Use it to select the port you are using to connect to your Model-T. Once both of those items are set, click the Start Service button. You are now ready to connect your Model-T to your PC.

Security Fix

When software is downloaded from the internet, Windows often flags it as unsecure in order to protect the user from viruses. If you receive a security warning from Windows when trying to run the install, do the following.

  1. Right mouse click on the filename and select properties from the popup menu.
  2. Click the Unblock button
  3. Click the Apply button
  4. Click the OK button

Once these changes have been made, you can now double click the filename to start the installation process
