The client uses the communication specs of the server (see below), and allows a user to select one of four COM ports. Connect the TRS-80 to the PC using a standard male DB25 to female DB9 null-modem cable. Load the server onto the TRS-80 using TrashTalk with the "Use Server?" option unchecked. To do this, load the BASIC prompt and type LOAD"COM:98N1E or hit F2 and type COM:98N1E. Then click the send button and select the appropriate TTSERV.BA file (included in the zip file distro). Finally type SAVE"TTSERV.BA at the BASIC prompt and then type run. You now have the server running on your TRS-80! Now you can check the "Use Server?" option and start managing and transfering .DO files with the click of a button! To send a file from the TRS-80 to a PC without the server you just select the file you want to save the data as, then a count down will start in the TrashTalk status bar. As soon as you type SAVE"COM:98N1E or hit F3 and type COM:98N1E at the BASIC (or TEXT) prompt on the TRS-80, the transfer will commence. One thing to note, the server does add a bit of overhead, and file transfers are faster without it. Another drawback of the server is that it only works with .DO files.
