Todd Brien Just got a Model 100 from E-Bay, always wanted one. I have gotten my son hook on Basic programming and we both are enjoying it.
Tony Fink I'm using teeny and desklink with my Linux laptop, which BTW is way to big for me to bring to class. I got on ebay and found a nice Tandy 102 for $25 and now I use it to take notes in class and to tinker around in Basic again. My first computing experience was with an Apple II in 3rd Grade, but my dorm room at college isn't big enough for that. Anybody else here in their 20's using one of these cool machines?
Jim Lee I still have my original m100 from back in the early 80's (I traded a PDP-11/23 for it!!) and just grabbed a t102 on eBay for backup. The m100/tpdd have been stored for ~21 years and I'm just now re-introducing myself to it! I've got ~200 retro computers that I'm going to turn into a museum when I retire. Until then, it's great fun to disconnect from current technology and use these old machines to relive history (and still do useful stuff)!
Charles Stepp I downloaded that desklink pack thing. EXCELLENT. That teeny dos is so small and crisp. I intend to carry my M200 around now as I start to write. It's a dream machine if you just want to spew your thoughts into good old simple ASCII. Thanks, Rick!! Now can you resurrect my Psions?
John Meyer To John Graf: click on this link for detailed instructions on transferring data between a Tandy 100 and a Macintosh. I have tested it myself and it works great! I did need a null modem adapter to make it work, however. Enjoy! http://www.bad-seed.org/dwelling/2003/06/
John Graf I was one of the first Model 100 users in Wis. Newspaper Assoc. Have two 100s and a 200 and a few books. Would love to find a way to easily tranfer text from the 100 to one of my newer Macintosh G4 computers. Any ideas? (Posted 11/24/07)
brent robeson have a tandy 1000 need ham programs rtty/cw can anybody help. am also a ham op. bought my tandy 1000 when they first came out. i really love that machine .it is cap of so much ,but i need ham programs for it since I want it to a all ham computer
Otto De La Torre I Am trying to get a tandy 600 any one for sale?
Lee Veal I just placed an ad for an RS Mdl 100 in the 'For Sale' section. I used the M100 while I served as secretary, newsletter editor and president of Dallas (TX) TRS-80 Users Group (DalTRUG). It served me well, I moved to San Miguel de Allende 7 years ago, and brought the beast with me. It's been sitting quietly in a box in my office for the last 7 years. I'd rather see that it gets a good home than continue to languish in the box or be thrown in the basura (trash).
David Smith M100 Info!!! I have some if the original info. on M100's including Technical refrence manuals!!!
Frits Hoekstra I have two Olivetti M10 and connect them with each other for fun.
gerhard prochaska Bought an Olivetti M10 today. Seems to work perfectly. Can get into Basic and write short proggy. I wonder howto transfer data from PC to this box. M100 seems to be same Hardware. Has someone got a communication proggy for PC and M100 ?
Timothy Scanson This is so crazy, I can't believe there is a website for the 100. I have been an avid TRS-80 fan from day one, Mode 1, 3, 4, 4P, Color, 100, 102 1000, I married the woman that sold me all of these machines. Anyway I rediscover Rick every 5 to 10 years and I think it's great that he still supports the 100/102. I love my 102 and still use it
Paul Barnhart Bought my M100 when it first came out, then bought the first disk drive when it came out. Still dig it out and play with it every few years.
Dave Edwards New 102 user. Hams...send me an email..we can compare notes of what can be done with this 'ol puter!!
Joseph Zapone I bought 3 Model 100 from Ebay, is there a Basic Tutorial for the Model 100 ??
Bill Giersberg Have my original M-100 and have bought several used over eBay. I have tape drives and the disk drive. I have Lucid spreadsheet chip. I have the whole collection of Portable Computing magazines for the T. Am I selling any of this stuff? No way! Every now and then I think about my M-100 and try to figure out a way to put it to use. Funny how I can toss away old motherboards and other computers when new technology comes along but getting rid of my M-100 would be like cutting an arm off. My favorite accessory was Compuserve. All the great programs that creative writers wrote and uploaded, I downloaded so many and saved them as well as printed them out. I just need to figure out a way to put my little friend back to work.
Peter Fox Wow! I haven't used my M100 in years. Found a version of BASIC for my Mac and wanted to transfer some of my old programs and refresh. Basic never seems to die completely. I remember when I wrote a version of Centepede called Garden Raid and posted it on Compuserve. One day I got an email that Compuserve was taking someone to court over theft of programs, and Garden Raid was listed among them. I thought it was so cool to be good enough to be hacked.
Ron Hudson Own a single 102. Network Admin of 20 years / Student ITT California USA
Mike Hamilton Picked up a m100 for $2.50 at a hamfest, mostly for packet radio use. Now I have the 100, 102, & 200 which I play with regularly. When the gang at the K8QIK Ham Radio Clubhouse waw these, soem wondered what you can possibly do with one. I told them it runs all month on 4 AA batteries. Try THAT with your whiz-bang Pentium! Great for portable ops.
Peter Undt WOW! My son turned 8 yrs old and I wanted to teach him BASIC without handing over my $3000 laptop. My Model 100 was just the trick! I used to work for a Tandy Computer store back in the early 80's for some extra college cash and bought just about everything that you could get for the thing! The only TANDY item I think I didn't buy was the little feet, and we all know how those fat grade school pencils cut down to the eraser work! I broke out all the old stuff and was really amazed how new it looked. Not narry a scratch anywhere and still clean as new (no yellowing, wow!). And to think here I am looking at my 27c256 eprom burner trying to figure out how to run a small LINUX build, SNICKER!
David Robertson I've got a 100 and 102. The 102 is used daily in my work (calibration) as a field-use instrument controller and datalogger is some very serious applications. Couldn't live without it!
Emery Doucet Hi. I recently found a NEC PC8201A in my basement, could anyone tell me how to interface it with a Basic Stamp 2? Thanks.
Graham Fisher Yehaa.. I haved one of the first ones made. Playing with it tonight I did a google on it for the grins of it and to my VAST surprise, I find mine isn't the only one in existence! I tried filling out my ram for 16 years, then dang if they didn't have it in 2002 at the CMC. What a crazy world. Nice to know there are other crazies out there. Best to you all!
Rick Hanson I greatly appreciate Doug McCombers programming skills in updating the guestbook and sales scripts by adding the necessary code to thwart the barrage of spamming bots that have plagued our clubs friendly user tools. As we move forward in time, other evils will present their challenge yet for now all is well once again in the world.
Doug McComber It was easy to transfer the old guestbook db and as a benefit all the email addresses are now obfuscated. There's that word again!
Richard Pietras Looking for a model 100 disc drive. The belt in mine may be skipping... any advise. When trying to install IPL, disc fires-up and then the power light flashes quickly off and on. New batteries, not sure dis is turning... need a belt? Thanks
Curtis McCain Just picked up a TS Booster Pak for my 102, but am unable to get it up and running. Followed instructions as shown in Pico and Portable 100 magazines to no avail. The inside shows all RAM chips except for 1 chip labeled Jewelmaster. Am I missing a ROM? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thomas Magelky Model T'er since early 80's
Matt Anderson Just picked up a 100 that looks brand new off E-bay! Having great fun riviving my programming skills from 20 years ago!
David Locklin I bought a Toshiba Libretto 70CT computer off ebay. Using it with my 100 & 200 is going to be fun!
Fez Fezzler Just picked up an Olivetti M10. Best machine of ALL (100,102,200,8201A,PC 8300)
John Arnold I use my NEC 8201 almost weekly for writing papers in a public environment. A babe magnet -almost as good as a dog. What a deal! I use the most simple of transfer schemes found on this site to download my work to desktop. Save as Com:9n81xn. Would it not be a new lease on life to use an MP3 player for storage as someone here recently suggested is being done. Thank you everyone for making this legacy computer usable for me w/ your helpful info.
Randall Shreve I have several Model 100s and two of the model 102 that all used for Army MARS work. Great compuer to take in the field to write reports and use with packet radio or HF Pactor radio.
Randall Bishop This is a great site. I still have a lot to learn about this machine. Want to use with ham radio applications.
David Locklin I finally managed to get a Tandy 200 after many years of waiting! I love it and it's all mine!
Ron Wiesen I've kept the "primordial bit", born of Big Bit Bang, in a safe and secret place ever since I extracted it from the world bit population in 1985.
John Reynolds I owned a Tandy 102 and used it a log when I was stuck overseas. Cool little machine. I just heard of the Model 200--how many of those were made? (I want one).
Glenn Coleman For those of you looking for a handy, low-cost storage device...very happy with the "enhanced data cable" purchased from venjai@hotmail.com (listed on your For Sale page 11/19). My MP3 player is now a reliable backup storage device for M100's and 102's AND I can transfer these files to PC in MP3 format on-the-fly. Has been especially useful in archiving my old cassette tape programs.
James Jamess Greate site. Thank you :)
Sam Adams Which is better tandy or alphasmart? Email awsner please.
Joe Jones I have a Model 102 that occasionally stops during the running of a basic program. The power switch, the reset button and all other functions cease to "reboot" it. After some time, it will come to life again. Is ther a fix? Is it the rechargable NiCad? Is there some line I can put into the BASIC program to do a warm start on an error? Where can I find another working 32K Model 102? (Can't be a 100, the 25-pin serial port is used in this application.
Dusten R I recently acquired a TRS-80 Model 100. Could someone e-mail me with internet sites that teach me how to program my Moldel 100.
sami adwan I have an NEC PC 8300 with damaged LCD. Help, please.
Koen Zijl I bought the TRS80 model 100 without documentation. I'd like to program in Basic. Would like some listings so I can see the differences with other basic versions. All information concerning how to operate my computer would help allot. Thanks.
Amanda Owens My grandfather bought an M100 pretty soon after they came out, but I ended up as the main user. I inherited it from him, but Mom made me get rid of it (and the M4 an uncle gave me) when I went off for college. I did manage to ship it off to someone who really wanted one. Now that I've got my own place (in Germany!), I'd like to have these machines again. The M100 is a bit more doable, as it runs off batteries (no transformer issues...) Glad to see others are still interested!
Doc Brown Cheers...got a model 100 and ready to provide the community with GPL RPG dice program if I can find where to upload it...that's funny, GPL M$ basic code...old Bill is turning over in his jacuzzi.
Paul Treffers Picked a 102 up today. What a lovely computer! I actually see myself using this one!
David Locklin Hello once again! It's been awile since I've been here and left a message. I'm still using my Model 100 and sold the Tandy 1400HD. I replaced it with a Toshiba laptop. Still using the Model 100 though.....
John Demchak I recently picked up a model 100 at a garage sale for $5. It just looked like a fun thing to play with. It was dead at first. I found that there's a open trace in the power supply apparantly somewhere under a capacitor that leaked some gunk.. I got it working with a clip on jumper . I might use it for some ham radio application. Great site.
Tom Luque I still own three 100 and one 200 from the late 80's. Used them to pass college BASIC programming classes, and made an interface to loand programs into CNC milling maching (used paper punch tape) when I took a college Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) class.
David Szasz Great site! I like the retro simplicity of the TRS-80 laptops & wish that the series would have continued. But, time and Tech do march on. Yet the m100 lives on and on in the hearts and minds of many. I have worked with many and owned a few laptops over the years. You just cant keep these little puppies down- keep on truckin, lil m100
Jeffrey Greer Have M100 & M200 - Haven't visited in awhile - Still a great site - Thanks

Paul Drahn Bought Tandy 100 in '83 to use as a portable terminal. Gave all away in about 1995 for a benefit garage sale. Alwas been sorry I did that. Two years ago found a M200 at next door neighbor's moving sale. Works fine. Plan to use it to upload/download programs to EMCO F1 CNC milling machine. Use the t200 to edit the CNC program. If I can't get this to play, will sell the 200 to a good family.
Derek Herincx still happily using my 100s and 200 after nearly 20 years

D.R. Monteiro 11/10/2004 - Just pulled my old M100 out of storage and plan to put it back in service. It got me through college in the '80s ... and I used it at work as an industrial engineer. Happy to see that your site is still up.
Paul Andreasen Anyone remember the Mikrokolor,, 1st color interface for 100? I made it. Am thinking about doing an article on how to home brew on if folks would be interested. It was adverttised in Byte and several issues of Portable 100 under Andreasen's Electronics R&D

Dave Powell I'm a technical writer, and after weeks of reviewing specs/prices for modern PDAs, I decided (lightbulb flashing!!!) to pull my Model 100 out of the closet! Allen Garen Hello. The part number for 32K static RAM that can internally expand the WP-2 is HY62256ALP-10. Possibly MS62256L-70 might be used. Does anyone know possible part numbers for a 128K device? Thank you.
Allen Garen Hello. I have a Tandy 200 connected to my HP 300 inkjet fax/printer, and am searching for a portable disk drive 2 for that and my WP-2. Also, I'm searching for 64K, 128K or larger internal RAM for my WP-2. Thank you.

nyall hebert Comment on connecting trs-80 to another computer.. I beileve when i did it i used old program called Telemate (program used for connecting to bbs's in ASCII type format used in mid 1990's) i used the rs-232 port and null modem.. I hope this info helps any. It was so long ago i don't even remember if i could transfer the file in both directions..
Nyall Hebert I dug my radio shack model 100 out of a box today. and came to this website It's almost unbelivable that these computers are still being used. but their simplicity i guess is a good thing. i had it linked to a toshiba t-1200 laptop to transfer files just to see if i could. all these years and they are still "compatible" with todays computers which amazes me even more. I might some day send my poor broke down model "T" in for restoration. i remember my dad using the computer when i as a boy using the acoustic couplers. Unfortunatly i don't have any accesories for it (drives etc) but i have a couple books for it somewhere with programs i can type into it. TRS-80 model 100 forever!
Tom Stone Happy 21st Birthday, Model 100! (March 29, 2004) Glad I've kept you all these years and kept your batteries fresh. And that silly PDA of mine is only 133 times faster ... not nearly as easy to type on. Who needs WiFi and Bluetooth when you have a 300 baud modem? :-)

Bernie Walp What a nice site! I take my M102 upside the 120" reflector telescope at Lick Observatory frequently. When I'm 20 to 50 feet up in the air it's nice to have something that weighs so little but has a full keyboard, to talk to various pieces of equipment mounted up alongside the telescope.

David Locklin Hi everybody! I was just trying to put a game on my sisters computer. I don't like how Windows takes forever to boot up and run. Trying to install a game was technical also. I'm going to stay with good old reliable because it's a hell of a lot easier to use!
Shawn Brisbin Jan. 17/03 - Hate to scare ya'll but I'm currently modding a 17" tower to include a model 102. The 102 motherboard will sit on the side panel with the k/b embedded in the top of the case above the psu. The LCD will be mounted in a lexan "L" shaped bracket up top. The initial desire is to be able to null modem cpu info from the main computer and display that onscreen on the 102.
charles williamson Hello, Rick. Is there a diskdrive for the 100? Available?
David Locklin I'm still using my 2nd Model 100 (the 1st one was stolen) after all these years! I bought it 2nd hand w/ a disk drive and printer for $250.00. Rick Hanson has helped me out a lot including repairing my 100 and taking late payments. I have too much fun w/ the 100. I'm still waiting to get a modern PC but if anyone thinks that I'm going to do away w/ the 100, they're nuts.
Remy Sagadraca It has been a long time since I fired upmy model 100. Looking forward to obtaining some software.
Natanya Moore Just bought my first 100. Looking forward to using a simple, portable word processor. Was thrilled to find a site devoted to 100 support. Thanks! (I'm also looking for a 3. 5 drive for my 100.)
Dave Stewart Own trs-80 Model 100 - God "Most Popular Program" for my Haunt program in the October 1985 issue of Portab Program Review. I'll send it and a few other (sorry - only saved in pdf) today to The Model 100 Club/Users group.

Rich Heileman I have both the Model 100 and 200. Got them in the mid '80s. Haven't used them in awhile, but I wouldn't part with 'em. They're just too cool!
Irv sherman I work on a computer all day long and I have to say what a pleasure it is to use the M100. When I turn it on I always get an "OK'. more than I get from work. Hope your club lasts forever
Gary Quick Used a 100 for several years then lost it in the shuffle when we closed our business. Now have bought a couple on eBay and enjoy getting into them again. Have the first drive & the cassette player. Thanks for the site!!!!
Alan McIlwain I just dusted off the old M100 to use to check some RS-232 links. It's the first time I've used it in years. I still have the old disk drive, assembler, Scripsit, a tape interface, etc. Great tool/toy!
Wendall Johnson I'm glad to hear I'm not alone . The "Model T" is still a great little machine.
Owen Gaede Hi. Just got a thrill here when I found a game I wrote for the Model 100 back in the mid-80s here among your software collection. I wrote "Portal of Light" for Alpine Data Systems just before they went bankrupt! Never saw a penny from it..but glad to see it is here and still alive.
Lester Bland I've had one of the 100's since the early 80's - I hope to figure out how to upload files to my desktop & I'll start using it again. Thanks for starting this site.Southwell

Jim Born Good site
wayne yoshida Wow. I thought I was the only one who still have one of these! You know, all the folks at the office have PDAs, and so I brought it to the office one day to take notes at a meeting. You should have seen everyone's faces that day! Great fun...
Bill McWeeny Rick: Nice web site. It's a lot different from the old Bulletin Board, but very nice. I'll visit again.

charles williamson You may add me to a directory. 100: batt light on dim when though comp is off, and epson printer connected. problem??
Bob Cleary Just purchased my first Model 100 from ebay. I was very excited to own what I hoped would be a low-tech solution to my data-entry needs during my long commutes, but disaster struck. My "J" key freezes up the system. Did I purchase a turkey or is there hope for fixing this thing? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Sean Krabach 4/21/02 - Have wanted a Model 100 from day one, but couldn't afford one back in jr. high. Now surfing the Web, I fell upon this site and picked up a great Model 100 on E-bay. Finally, after 19 years, I have my 100! Will be ordering cable and TRS-DOS on ROM to transfer between PC and the 100. Thanks!
Scot Shermer Just picked up a Model 102 from work (was headed for the dumpster). Brings back some memories! I will probably mess with it (I am an EE who loves to tinker) and see what use I can put it to around the house. What a great site! Amazing how this old stuff is still so popular...among those of us who have been with the computer world since the very beginning.
F. SADIK GOKTEPE I am very glad to find Club 100 since I have 102, 200, both disk drives and Chipmunk drive. I used them during my studies in the U.S. between 83 and 88. I still use them once in a while and enjoy very much. I hope to share many things in this site with fellow users.
Jerry Billmyer Great site!! Had my 100 since late 80's. Now i need a portable data terminal... my laptops are too fragile. I'll hook my GPS to the 100, store my data and transfer into my system. THANKS FOR REVIVING MY MEMORIES!!!
Michael Willems Great idea - I must clean up my old Model 100 soon!
Emilijan Cucek had a Mod100 from dayone in 1983 - fought the 300 baud, had Rick send me the expansion of memory - to 32 I think - used the Mod100 on asignment in Baghdad - still in peace time, Sadam's guys went nuts trying to copy filkes to IBM machines. Gave up on the lovely machine years ago and am now very sorry.
Jeff Gaskill I have been a WP-2 user for years and love it. These are great computers for when you need to get some work done and not be distracted by all the noise that our "new toys" create. Thanks for all your hard work keeping these babies alive for a little longer.
justin alexander My mother had found a tandy 200 at a garage sale and at first I thought that it was a useless dinosaur. I was concerned that there was no way to even use it as a word processor. Im glad that this site exists so I can get use out of the 200 now.
Richard Max And before today I had thought I was the only one left on the planet with a tandy-200. Now if I could find the way to get my notes into my pc for editing my day would be complete. Can anyone help me?
Jim Leonard Glad to see that another BATS is still alive and kicking.
Debbie Norton Imagine my shock when I searched the web trying to find some info on a TRS 80, model 100...what a hoot! I am picking one up this evening that someone gave to my mom and wanted to find out what I could about it. Cool Beans! I guess that means I am a member of the Club 100. God bless!
Shawn Brisbin 03/16/02-Anyone know if the TPDD can be used on a PC8201a?
Jim Hamilton Bought a model 100 in 1984 - doesn't crash - no boot-up time - still like it for short memos - still one of the best keyboards.
Marcel van der Sluis My Model 100's screen is dead. Any ideas? Is there a common cause for the screen not working? I've had my M100 since 1983 and I would love to get it up and running again.
Shawn Brisbin 02/04/07 Glad to see the new website up and running! Looks good. Keep up the good work.
Ken Chong My model 100 is still in mint condition. I plan to use it as a portable Ham radio data terminal.
Rob. W. Ripley Recieving loud and clear in melbourne, Australia. Thanks for keeping up the vital work!
Gary Boyce absolute 100 newby, got a bare bones 100 on ebay and a manual, now, what can I do with it? Can I go on line and pick up my email with it? Don't have time to research. Had a death in the family and have to travel mext week. Don't have and don't want a "modern " laptop for one week's use. Thanks, Gary
Howard Pepper Rick, thanks for the call-back. I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of my Model 100. Really makes me wish I had kept my original.
Hu Filleul I am still using a 102 bought in 1987 after a serious spinal injury forced me to write while on my back. While up and about now I use it for note taking and it has never failed me. Use Xtalk and serial transfer to PC.
Carl Hutchins I just picked up a mint condition model 100 at a yardsale. I had no idea if it worked but when I put in batteries.... viola... It's good to see that there is web support available.
Daniel Castro I came here because I have seen a reference when I visited one of my favorites websites. I think it is really cool that there are persons around there tha enjoy doing that sort of thing. Go ahead and good luck.
Jack Kaiser I bought my Tandy at a thrift shop for like $5 about 5 years ago, but I haven't done much with it, because I don't know what I can do with it. Maybe someone can tell some of the things I can do with it.
Nikolai L Im interested in buying a tandy for typing up school notes but i need more information on the specifications of the device. 1. Can you buy voltage adapoters for them? 2. How much memory can they hold? 3. Can i hook them up to my pc and upload text to the pc? 4. Can i hook them up to most printers? 5. Where can i get some pictures of them?
William Yearsley have m/n 102.more memory?
Gregory Moon I came across my very dusty old 102 the other day. New batteries failed at first to bring her to life. I found a 6 volt dc adapter, switched the polarity to center MINUS and then she came to life. Amazing Reliability! My first Palm Pilot didn't last a year.
Shawn Brisbin Jan 9/02 - Finally got the first version of my website done: www.xibalba.com/website100/
fred huttleston has anyone ever hooked up motors to the modle100?robotics?
Jeff Ray Dug out my good ol' M100, put in some fresh batteries and it still worked! Still a useful tool after being in hibernation for years.
geoffrey d. ransford II can supply - but how? - a replacement for Disk Power (if, by any chance, you've screwed up your original disk, as I have). My mailing addres is P.O. Box 91, Cornwall (Ont.), Canada K6H 5R9 and my 'phone is (613) 932-5634. Losing Disk Power, for whatever reason, is a Most Awful Thing to happen to anyone. By what can be called astute programmin, I got round Hugo's barriers to the do-it-yourselfers.
Sam Getts Any campers & Ohioans out there 1)100 2)102 & 1)NEC PC8300
Dale Mowry Mowry Time to dust the 100 and 200 off. Great site for support.
Bob Nickel For the life of me, I can't load any of the Model 100 program tapes I have. When the program is found, it crashes right at the end of the load. Anything I write and save loads fine. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me as to how to get an old Radio Shack program to load?
Bailey Pendergrass, Jr. I found your address in Popular Science Jan02, and dusted off my old Nec8201, put new batteries in and wow, it booted right up after 16 years dormant.
Manuel Escobedo I always wanted one of these but couldn't afford it, after taxes I want to buy one as a belated Christmas present for myself.
Charles Mollenkopf Can't get a confirm blank e-mail accepted to address you give!
John Riemann I have a Model 100, purchased shortly after they became available from Tandy. I hadn't tried to use it for at least 5 years, but today I decided to check it out. I put new batteries in it and to my suprise it seemed to be working just as it did all those years ago. I am delighted to find this site and learn that software and hardware are still available.
Charles Mollenkopf Lost you. Found you in Popular Science today.
Kevin Murphy I purchased my Model 100 in 1984, and a 102 a few years later -- both still work perfectly\, although I rarely use them any longer. Popular SCieince January 2002 note reconnected me with your site, Rick. I used to be on your mailing list but got separated over time. Nice to see the site up and running, although last update was couple of years ago -- does that mean the business is no longer active? A couple of my Model 100 articles got into Portable 100 magazine and another Model 100 mag. TIMES (NW Indiana) reporters used it for years -- perhaps some still do.
Eric Harden I have owned a model 100 since 1983, but have relegated it to storage as well as my model 12, and 1000. Finding this site has piqued my interest in dragging it out again.
Bob Nickel I can't get over how well the rechargeable battery in the model 100 lasts so long. I have 4 Model 100's, and when I check the internal battery, it is always up to full voltage without any leakage. We are talking about a battery that has been installed for over 18 years! Rechargeable batteries today don't last long at all! Has anyone out there ever had problems, or had to replace the internal battery?
Shawn Brisbin 01/12/06 - Found a ram/rom chip. not sure if its model 100 or colour computer. markings are: Tandy (c) 81, 8045364, 8225. any ideas from anyone?

John Witten great work
Peter Gallagher Bought a Nec-8201 in 1983 because it had more ram than the M-100. Basic in rom (by W.Gates? - best thing he's done, I think) now complemented by URII. A neat computer. Learned to program basic, assembler. Never had so much fun with a computer since. The restrictions of that screen and 30k of memory were chains of delight. Happy days to all... Peter.
Tim Dobbs This is one great site. I have a pc-3800 and it works great. keep up the wonderful site

Frank Fisher In '85 I had a friend with a Model 100, and I had an Olivetti version of the 100 (upside down circuit board, flip-up screen). It got me through high school physics as I programmed all the formulas into it, plus a bit of back-alley portable hacking in my less mature days. It's nice to see they're still being used.

Tom Garcia Just got a 100 today at a garage sale.
Phil Farquharson Bought my T102 in 1986 in Seattle, used the internal 300-Baud modem to access C-Serve. Later bought used T200. Let go of both in 1990, unfortunately. Better send me one of those refurbed rascals ASAP!
Robert Hales Loved my 24K Model 100 when it was new. I would like to find a home for it instead of sending it to a landfill.

Nelson Henry Just wanted to say you have a great site here. I like it...
Larry Bechdol I joined M100 Club awhile back but left when Work gave me a laptop to use. I no longer have the laptop, so will be using my M100 again for portable computing. It always worked well, anyway. Love your site...it's easy to read and easy to get around. Good work!
Scott Ranstrom Nice !!!
Keith Britton I'm converting 2 M100s to smart kiln controllers - one still retains data that I put in circa 1983. I hope y'all realise just how much you are appreciated by those who need to work with old equipment. If I generate anything useful in experience, I'll pass it on. Keith Britton
Richard Garrett Still use the 100. As a predictor of future technology, it is an incredible machine.
George Buchanan i very much enjoy this great site
John Deitz Everyday user 102 since 1985
Mike Roden Coincidence time - arrived here via a link from the Lockergnome newsletter which I was reading just ten minutes after deciding (yet again) not to throw away my long unused 102. Great site!
Rick Allison My kind of site, I love the contents & information.
Howard Abraham The Model 100 seems to live on for (almost) ever! Still a fine machine for note-taking and programming and teaching folks about real computers!
James Engle I installed the TSDOS chip and have transfered teeny.ba to the t100. All looks well, but now I am just staring at an asterisk (function key?) the instructions told me to type (what does that do? It just sits there.). Teeny.ba and Teeny.co are in my directory, but I get only an error beep on the .co. Please explain in simple terms what should happen here; what does Teeny DO? What do I do after the darn asterisk/function key is typed? The .co file just beeps.Thanks.
John Doe great site! not a model 100 support, but THE model 100 support.

Alan Stolpen I just found you via Bob Pease's web page at National Semiconductor. I still have my Model 100 (and my Color Computer and my Model 1000 and my Model 1400 Tandy computers).

David Hodgson Seti@Home : The Star Maps For Visual Use: http://www.memorybankinc.com/SETI.htm
Alan Jones I am up to my fifth and hopefully last Model 100 purchase. This little computer is a God send. I use it for just about everything. Right now I am using my Model 100 for a cheap and easy dumb terminal for a CP/M computer kit I built. I also like to use my Model 100 for portable packet radio use in my truck (ham radio AA4ZI). Rick thanks for providing this web site!
Rob Bartlett Hi everybody! I just found your site while looking for tech info. I have had my model 100 since almost the day they came out - 1983/84 I believe. For years I used to do a great deal with it. In the mid-80's I was often to be found using 100's telecom via public phones (using those big "can" things). My family (especially my son) thinks I am mad to keep my 100! I still love it, using it for text entry mainly, plus programming - I have been a professional software developer for 30 years (now an internet specialist). I even did some work for a couple of computer stores back then on their trs80s - I had model 1's and 2's in the early 80's too. Keep up the good work.
Charlie Fulmer Is any one have a 100 up and running on rtty, cw, or packet? e-mail me how you did it. thanks Charlie
KIRT MOORE I saw a magazine article about the "T-100" about a year ago. I finaly found a WP-2 at a thrift store for $10.00. It only needed batteries and looks like it was made yesterday. In memory was a school report on the U.S. Contsution written last year. That says it all right there ! My 10gig PC must think i'm crazy cause I even use WP-2 at home. It's good to find some other people that know that "LESS REALLY IS MORE". "GODSPEED to you guys ! You have a new friend here . More folks need to know about "CLUB 100" . How can I help ?
ROSS MCINTOSH I am interested in the 100's & 102's, but I have a 600. I haven't used it recently, but it is complete and I intend to keep it. Thanks for the support.
Quincey Craig Very interest site. There should be a differences page(s) about the featured models
Alex Costea looking for opsinfo on TRS-80 and Tandy 1400 pcs. need manuals, etc., and may need parts. HELP!
Joe Kennedy Hi - Stumbled upon about 40 Model 102's at my old high school. Our computer club reconditioned them and gave them to students to use for word processing & eMail via a local BBS. I still have mine as a relic--used as a "grandfather clock" in my work room! I love the old dependable computers!!!
Peter Hone Hi - I found my 102 at one of our English 'Bootsales' about three years ago. It has been my constant companion since. Most of its use is for text editing in places where you cannot use a desk PC and where you cannot see the display on a modern (sic) laptop. Love the site - it's great to see so many people still running these wonderful old machines. More Power to You All!!!!
David Martin My 102 is still ticking since '86. Does anyone have the CO. command to boot the ROM 2? I lost the #
Walt Heskes Finally installed Desklink afer two-year hiatus. Works great! Solved Y2K issue: set date to 1944.
Torsten Jaeckel How do i change the filename extension from basic.do to basic.ba . I want to load a file from my pc to the tandy via the serial interface. How do i create on the PC the EOF-Character, "Strg-Z" for example? My Tandy needs e lot of battery-Energy, when i connect the two PC's with teh serial cable. Thanks to some helpful comment from you !
Torsten Jaeckel 23.Dez.2000 : Nice place for my PC with super low powerconsumtion. I like to hear about some projects to control relais an switches with it .
H D Morris Anyone know of a site or group who maintain interest in Tandy Model 2 or 16? Thanks
Anthony Sestric Thank you, thank you, thank you. I found you by accident, and I am delighted that there is some one out there who still loves their Tandy the way I do. I have a Tandy 200, and have not found anyone who can find a program to allow me to print out to a LexMark Laser printer. Do you know of any program that will allow me to do that?
Peter Daems little stuff to find in Belgium about trs-80.thats a pitty.
Bob Dog I grew up with the earliest computers - the Apple II, the TI, Commodore 64, etc. - and though I never owned a Model 100, I always liked them. Truly the first *usable* portable computer (forget the Osborne!) and definitely the first laptop. Although yours is clearly a hobby involving outdated technology, it's great to see people like yourself doing this. (You're right about comparing the Model 100 to the Model T.) It'd be a real shame to lose them; I've heard companies like Nintendo charging people with piracy for making ROMs of old games, which is stupid - it's about preserving history, not making money! ^_^
