An eBook Reader for the M100/102 (Requires TS-DOS, preferably with a NADSbox). The sample files require a 32kB system. There are two versions: EREAD1: Reads directly from an external RS-232 source, such as a NADSbox, Bluetooth link, etc. EREAD2: Loads a segment (~26kB max) at a time from an external source and then reads from RAM. Sample files included are the first two chapters of Mike Tomczyk's Home Computer Wars: HCW.DO: 106kB file for direct reading with EREAD1. HCW01.DO to HCW05.DO: Same as HCW.DO, split into five 26kB segments. To use: (When the NADSbox is mentioned below, this could also refer to any other TS-DOS compatible file source). EREAD1: Load the file to be read (e.g. HCW.DO) into the NADSbox. Activate TS-DOS and make it resident (F5). Load and run EREAD1. Enter base file name (e.g. HCW, without pre- and suffix). Read away. EREAD2: Load the file segments to be read (e.g. HCW01.DO to HCW05.DO) into the NADSbox. Activate TS-DOS and make it resident (F5). Load and run EREAD2. Enter starting segment name (e.g. HCW01, without pre- and suffix). When it starts printing you can remove or disconnect the NADSbox to save power. Read away. At the end of the segment, replace the NADSbox and press RETURN to continue (or Q to quit). Again, when the segment is loaded you can remove or disconnect the NADSbox if you like and read on. Functions: While reading you can press: SPACE bar to pause , to slow down (<) . to speed up (>) / to suspend and power off; when you turn it back on it will continue. There is no way to back up at this time (if ever ;-) but RUN100 will start at a certain line number. I don't have a NADSbox so all my testing was with DeskLink, on the assumption that the NADSbox is compatible. Comments (positive ;-) and criticism (gentle and constructive ;-) welcome. If you enjoy the first chapters of Mike's book I can send the rest on request. Mike Stein
